Taking the glaucoma journey with your loved one

How you can offer support

Your role as a caregiver for a loved one with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension is important! Your support may translate into helping to preserve your loved one’s vision:

  • Ensure that your loved one is using VYZULTA only once daily, in the evening
  • Emphasize the importance of taking VYZULTA as prescribed by their eye doctor

Ways you can help with changes in vision

Two women near a tree.

  • Offer a customized magnifier for reading, hobbies, and other close-up tasks
  • Drive them to their next eye doctor appointment. Take a notepad and pen to write down any of the doctor’s suggestions

  • Help make adjustments at home:
    • ╸Make sure the home is well-lit
    • ╸Remove any unnecessary clutter
    • ╸Create a contact list with important phone numbers (doctors, neighbors, family members, transportation, and emergency contacts) in large print
    • ╸Keep this list in a convenient place, perhaps near a wall calendar with important appointments clearly marked
  • Encourage frequent eye health screenings for loved ones
    • For those not diagnosed with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension, these visits may help with early detection. For a loved one already diagnosed with either condition, more frequent checkups may help to keep eye pressure under control
  • Take your loved one to shop for groceries or run errands every week:
    • ╸Make a shopping list ahead of time
    • ╸Help them find the list of items in the store
    • ╸Stay near if they need help

INDICATION

VYZULTA® (latanoprostene bunod ophthalmic solution), 0.024%, is used to lower intraocular (eye) pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Brown color, or increased brown color, of the iris can occur, which may be permanent. Darkening of the eyelid skin may also occur, which is usually reversible after VYZULTA treatment is discontinued.
  • Gradual changes to eyelashes may occur, including increased length, thickness, color, number of eyelashes and/or direction of eyelash growth. These changes may result in a difference in appearance of each eye. These changes are usually reversible after VYZULTA treatment is discontinued.

  • Remove contact lenses before putting VYZULTA in your eyes. Lenses may be reinserted 15 minutes later.
  • If you are using other eye drops in addition to VYZULTA, wait 5 minutes between using each type of eye drop.
